The flat surface can be used for suitable light warming tasks, such as gently warming a teapot, when permitted by the manufacturer's instructions. It should not be treated as a general cooking surface unless specifically approved for that purpose.

The Bergen is fitted with a 1.5 litre Premium manual bioethanol burner with an adjustable flame. It provides a maximum burn time of up to 5 hours per refill, depending on the flame setting and operating conditions.

With a heat output of 2.1 kW and fuel consumption of approximately 0.3 L/h, the Bergen can provide additional warmth while creating an inviting flame display. The flame can be adjusted manually using the supplied tool.

Because the fireplace uses bioethanol rather than wood or gas, there is no need for a chimney or flue, and the stove does not require an electrical connection.
